The Dollar Shave Club 4-blade razor cartridge

What's in the box

The Starter Set keeps things deliberately simple: one Diamond Grip Handle and one 4-Blade Razor Cartridge. That's the whole system. No adaptors, no accessories to lose, nothing to configure.

Click the cartridge in

Hold the handle in one hand and the cartridge in the other. Line up the cartridge with the head of the handle and press until it clicks into place. That click is the whole installation — if you heard it, you're done.

To remove it later, press the release on the handle and the cartridge pops free. Click, swap, carry on.

Prep with warm water

A good shave starts before the razor touches your face. Shower first, or wash your face with warm water for a minute or so. Warm water softens facial hair and helps the shave feel smoother from the first stroke.

Apply your shave product

Use whatever shaving gel, cream, or foam you already like. Work it over the whole area you plan to shave — an even layer helps the razor glide and lets you see where you've been.

Short, gentle strokes. That's it.

Let the blades do the work. There's no need to press — light pressure and short strokes give the 4-blade cartridge room to do its job. Start with the grain (the direction your hair grows), and rinse the cartridge under running water between strokes to keep it clear.

After the shave

Rinse your face with cool water, and rinse the cartridge thoroughly until it runs clear. Shake off the excess water and let the razor air-dry somewhere it can breathe — a dry razor stays ready for tomorrow.

  • Rinse the cartridge until water runs clear
  • Shake off excess water — no wiping the blades
  • Store it somewhere dry between shaves
